Breast Augmentation, Female, Saint Albans

Alexis, a busy mum of three young children, speaks to us about her decision to have a breast augmentation at Spire Harpenden Hospital with Consultant Plastic Surgeon Nilesh Sojitra.

Before kids I was very happy with my breasts, but my kids just sucked the life out of them.  I am a vain person and couldn’t go through the rest of my life not happy with how they looked and not wanting to walk around my house in a nightie.  I wanted to do something about it, and discussed it with my husband.  Within two months I had had the operation.  I’m impulsive and once I’ve made a decision I like to get it done.

Why did you choose Spire Harpenden?

I live locally, in St Albans, and had previously had a procedure at Spire Harpenden, so was comfortable with the hospital and care.  When I said I was considering getting a breast augmentation my friends asked whether I would be going to a Harley Street Clinic, but I know that a lot of the surgeons who work in Harley Street also work in other hospitals. In my case, my surgeon who works in Harley Street also has a base in Harpenden.

What was your first consultation with Mr Sojitra like?

Mr Sojitra was very confident and he clearly knows what he’s doing.  He didn’t try to give me a sales pitch, and just answered my questions.

I met him at a consultation at Spire Harpenden in January.  I had met one other cosmetic consultant, but made my mind up then.  The service was great, and I particularly liked being able to see the 3D before and after images which he created for me, so I could see how the results would look.

I chose to go for a larger size – everyone who I spoke to said that you very quickly get used to the size and I didn’t want to regret going to small.  I asked Nilesh’s opinion and he was very supportive.

How was the care you received while you were at Spire?

The staff at Spire were perfect and very kind.  I was only in for a few hours; I wanted an in and out procedure so I could get back to normal and didn’t want to worry about childcare if I was in overnight.

How do you feel about the results?

I absolutely love it.  It’s the third best decision I’ve ever made, after having kids and getting married.  I’m 36 and don’t get my cleavage out, but it has made me so much more confident.

Would you recommend Mr Sojitra?

Yes – My best friend is choosing whether to have another child, if she decides against it she will be coming in straight away to get it done with him.  I have recommended Nilesh to many of my friends.

BREAST AUGMENTATION AND UPLIFT/FILLERS/MOLES, FEMALE, LONDON

I met Dr Nilesh Sojitra in 2011 when I had my first surgical procedure, breasts augmentation. The results was amazing, more than I have ever expected. Since then I have had other cosmetic procedures: moles removal, Juvederm fillers and I have always been more than happy with my results. I strongly recommend Dr Sojitra who apart from being a genius when it comes to cosmetic procedures either surgical or non-surgical, is also very friendly, caring, calm and very honest! And the Juvederm fillers are beyond words….. So if anyone needs a great doctor he is definitely THE BEST!

Rhinoplasty, Female, North London

‘’ After years of being unhappy with my side profile I decided to have a closed Rhinoplasty procedure with  Mr. Nilesh Sojitra at Spire hospital in Harpenden. I had been to consultations with other surgeons but as soon as I met Mr Sojitra I knew I wanted him to do the procedure.

As expected I was nervous about my surgery but now I am honestly so impressed as to how smoothly everything went. Teresa Jellis is the specialist plastic surgery nurse and is such a lovely lady, she played a huge part in making my experience so comfortable. Teresa visited me after surgery even outside of her working hours and called me the following week to make sure I was ok and to answer any questions.

I am so glad I went ahead with rhinoplasty and would recommend Mr Sojitra to anyone – he has a very calm, reassuring manner and was honest and realistic throughout the process. Thank you to all involved at Spire Harpenden.’’

Labiaplasty, Female, London

We recently undertook a necessary Labiaplasty as a private patient for our daughter in connection with Spires hospital Harpenden and the Cobham Clinic at Luton and Dunstable Hospital and we were absolutely delighted by the caring and professional attitude  shown towards us by Mr Nilesh Sojitra and his secretary, Carolyn.  Before the procedure everything was explained by Nilesh and the anesthetist who put everyone at ease and made our daughter feel valued, she just toddled off  to theatre and came back to us a much happier young person.  The physical and functional deformation that had blighted her life for 3 and half years had gone.  This was only possible because of this team of people, they made it happen and lifted a big burden off our shoulders.  Nilesh clearly understood that our daughter was experiencing various functional problems and that this was not purely cosmetic as some other doctors kept saying.  He didnt fob us off and we are eternally grateful.  He actually listened to us and made it happen and here we are – a much happier daughter and parents.  Our daughter was out socializing the next day and returned to college after 3 days!  First class skills and aftercare and we can fully recommend him and his team.

Blepharoplasty, Female, Hertfordshire

After making the decision to have my droopy eyelids ‘sorted’ (Blepharoplasty) I contacted Cosmetic Surgeons London and from then everything became quick and simple.  I had a consultation at Spire Hospital Harpenden with Nilesh Sojitra, who explained the procedure excellently and a date was set.  I had a follow up telephone conversation with a nice lady called Teresa who is the cosmetic nurse specialist, who went over the procedure again.

I opted to have the procedure under local anesthetic, mainly because of my age (68) and a previous heart condition.  I was rather nervous, but need not have worried.  The injections were uncomfortable (no worse than going to the dentist though) but everything went well and the theatre staff really looked after me.  I went into hospital at 3.00 p.m. and, after the operation and a bite to eat, I was home by 7.30 p.m.

I have been surprised at how quickly I healed.  There was a little bruising, but not black and blue like I expected and no pain whatsoever.  Teresa took the stitches out a week later and after a further week I was ready to face the world again.

Unless I point it out, no-one would guess that I had had the procedure done.  The scarring is minimal and is concealed in the natural creases around my eye.  And yes, I am very pleased with the results.  I feel better in myself and would recommend Nilesh to anyone.
